This past weekend, CortesNYC opened its doors for the “Kontraband” Open Art Studio. We welcomed a vibrant crowd of art lovers, graffiti heads, fellow artists, and newcomers eager to experience the Cortes graffiti world for the first time.
The atmosphere was electric as we went live on Instagram and TikTok, featuring an all-star lineup of graffiti writers and creatives including Meres, Radical Tattoos, Souls, Imagenyc, and Rula from Pirañas Crew. Each showcased their unique style, adding their energy to the blackbooks and the culture.
The event also featured visual artist Ramiro, who wowed attendees with live illustrations of comic icons like Spiderman and Ben Grimm, blending street culture with superhero nostalgia.
We were excited to debut our brand new Kontraband merch line, which includes: original artwork, 3D Cortes collectibles, keychains, magnets & stickers and earrings & t-shirts.
The response was incredible. Our community showed up, supported, and copped some serious heat!
